HFSP Long-Term Fellowships (LTF)

Three-year postdoctoral fellowships for researchers holding a PhD in a biological discipline who wish to pursue novel, innovative, and interdisciplinary basic research in the life sciences at a laboratory abroad. The 2026 cycle deadlines are: Letter of Intent 12 May 2026 (9:00 AM ET) and Full Proposal 24 September 2026 (9:00 AM ET). Funding includes living allowances, research and travel allowances, and parental/child allowances, scaled to the host country.

HFSP LTFs support postdoctoral researchers from biological backgrounds to move internationally and conduct frontier, interdisciplinary life science research for 3 years.

Eligibility: PhD in a biological discipline; must relocate to a new country
Letter of Intent deadline: 12 May 2026, 9:00 AM ET
Full Proposal deadline: 24 September 2026, 9:00 AM ET
Funding: Living allowance (country-scaled), research & travel allowance, child/parental leave allowances
Focus: Novel, innovative, interdisciplinary basic research on complex mechanisms of living organisms
