Postdoc: AAV Capsid Engineering with Generative AI
Competitive joint ETH Zurich–Roche BEST (Bio-Engineering Systems for Therapeutics) postdoc program at D-BSSE Basel, developing state-of-the-art generative AI models for AAV capsid protein design to improve gene therapy vectors' tissue tropism, immunogenicity profile, and manufacturing yield. The role combines computational generative modeling with wet-lab validation including library construction and NGS-based screening. PhD in computational biology, bioinformatics, or bio-ML with hands-on generative protein model experience required.

- Develop state-of-the-art generative AI models for protein design targeting novel AAV capsids
- Lead computational design workflow; co-run wet-lab validation (library construction, viral production, NGS screening)
- Address challenges of tissue tropism, human immunity, and manufacturing yield in gene therapy
- PhD in computational biology, bioinformatics, or bio-ML required; hands-on generative protein model experience essential
